About Us

The Tokushu Tokai Paper Group promotes a wide range of businesses including whisky production and tourism, while drawing on forestry engineering expertise cultivated through our forestry operations.
Through these initiatives, we aim to create new demand and enhance corporate value.

Whisky business

Juzan Co., Ltd. Ikawa Distillery is located on the banks of the Oigawa River in Ikawa Forest and, at an altitude of 1,200 metres, is the highest distillery in Japan. We are dedicated to crafting whisky that embodies the bounty of the Minami Alps by drawing on the region’s natural resources, including spring water, timber and a cool maturation environment.
We have been recognised for initiatives aimed at decarbonising the Ikawa Distillery and upcycling production by-products, winning the Minister of Finance Prize at the 2025 EcoPro Awards.

Harnessing Ikawa Forest

At Juzan Co., Ltd., we are engaged in a range of activities aimed at creating a virtuous cycle of environmental conservation and the sustainable use of the natural assets of Ikawa Forest.
In recent years, part of Ikawa Forest’s carbon absorption capacity has been certified under the J-Credit Scheme as a new form of forest value alongside forestry and tourism.
In addition, in support of the global 30 by 30 target, which aims to conserve at least 30% of land and oceans by 2030, we have registered most of Ikawa Forest as one of Japan’s largest nature-positive sites recognised by the Ministry of the Environment.
This initiative has received recognition both in Japan and internationally, including the Special Award from the Executive Committee of the 13th Good Life Awards organised by the Ministry of the Environment.

Construction/civil engineering business

Tokushu Tokai Forest Co., Ltd. leverages the expertise developed through forest road construction, with projects commissioned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, prefectural and municipal governments, and clients such as JR Tokai forming the core of its business. The company has earned high praise for projects including river improvement works and national highway bridge construction.
With the aim of creating the infrastructure needed to support local communities and protect them from natural disasters, while being in harmony with nature, in recent years we have introduced new digital technology and achieved construction management that optimises safety and efficiency.

Agricultural and forestry landscaping business

Tokushu Tokai Forest Co., Ltd. has expanded its business by leveraging expertise cultivated through many years of forest management in Ikawa Forest. Today, we conduct agricultural and forestry landscaping projects rooted in the local community, including land development and planting for public works, as well as the pruning and pest control of street trees.
We also manage facilities such as riverside areas along the Oigawa River and baseball grounds under contract with Shimada City, and actively contribute to the local community through activities including the organisation of events using these riverside spaces.
